Deepak Sharma – CEO

Deepak got involved with digital video during his graduation at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He worked extensively on fractal image compression theory and applications while pursuing his graduation. He joined Delsoft in the year 2000, after completing his Masters in Scientific Computing. Here he worked on Surveyor, the DVD analysis software, which was later acquired by a globally leading Test and Measurement Company. He played important role in designing and implementing video test and measurement tools for the company. His next job was at Manystreams, a start-up company focussing on carrier grade Media Streaming servers. He was responsible for review and refinement of overall server architecture. His strength is his ability to identify new opportunities, envision innovative products and lead teams to deliver them. At Venera he is responsible for overall business direction and strategy. Deepak is co-founder of Venera.

M.C. Patel – CEO, EAME Operations

MC is a recognised serial entrepreneur in the Broadcast and Post Production industry. He was a driving force behind Abekas in the 1980s and went on to establish Alpha Image, a company that lead the way during the digital revolution in the early 90s. After selling the business to Dynatech, MC became the Head of European Sales closing substantial multi million dollar contracts with STAR, ORBIT and Wharf Cable. He then moved to Discreet as Director of Hardware technology before leaving to set up Post Impressions, a company specialising in developing high performance platforms, in 1999. After selling Post Impressions to Snell & Wilcox he has pursued a career providing consultancy to high tech companies in the Film and TV industry. MC's strength is his ability to combine his deep understanding of broadcast and post production workflow with his knowledge of the technologies involved to create pragmatic solutions.

Vikas Singhal – Director, Business Development

Vikas holds an engineering degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. In the year 1999 he joined Geometric Software, where he was responsible for module comparison algorithm for the Autodesk – MDT software. In 2000 he moved to IDVT. At IDVT he was responsible for architecting the Real Time Analyser product of the company. He started working for Manystreams in 2002 and was responsible for the architecture, design and implementation of M-CE, the carrier grade media streaming server of the company. After co-founding Venera, he has developed and maintained several client and partner relationships. His strength is his ability to identify the pain points of the customers. At Venera his key responsibilities include devising business strategies and managing marketing & sales activities of the organization.

Sourav Choudhury – CTO

After completing his post-graduation from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, Sourav joined IDVT in the year 2000. He worked on several test and measurement products at IDVT and was in charge of M-Probe, the globally leading MPEG analysis software. Throughout his career, Sourav has been the architect behind several complex video solutions involving MPEG, DVD, Blu-ray, HD-DVD and allied technologies. His strength is deep understanding of video technologies, incisive analytical skills and natural talent for problem solving. At Venera, Sourav is responsible for product deliveries, monitoring and refinement of engineering processes and defining the technological direction of the organization. Sourav is co-founder of Venera.

Iain has worked in a range of roles within Video Post Production and Test and Measurement companies, for American, Canadian and British companies.  This has helped Iain to have a good all round knowledge of the issues and challenges facing the industry as it starts the transition from tape-based to file-based workflow.  As well as being the product specialist for Pulsar, Iain is the first port of call for support for our customers in Europe.
